Prescripstapes - Audrey Hepburn Special!! Princess Anne - Roman Holiday (1953) + Holly Golightly - Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)

What's up everyone?! Today's episode is extra extra extra super special because Izzy's brother Lorenzo joins us in the studio today to provide expert insight onto the work of Audrey Hepburn, covering two of her most acclaimed films, Roman Holiday (1953) and Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961). Buckle in for this two hour long special making mixtapes for her characters in each of these films, even though we hd an extra hour it was still a bit of a tight squeeze so here are some extra tidbits Lorenzo wanted to share but didn't quite have time to include:
- During the scene in Roman holiday where Audrey says goodbye to Gregory peck, she wasn’t able to cry on demand as this was er first big role. Take after take she couldn’t do this so eventually director William Wyler shouted at her in front of the entire crew telling her to be a professional and not waste everyone’s time. Audrey hearing this burst into tears and they shot the scene after that and voila.
- During the mouth of truth scene where Greg pretends his hand has been bitten off he hides his hand in his sleeve. Audrey didn’t know this was happening and her reaction to it is genuine
- After a few days of shooting Gregory peck called his agent to add her name with his above the title in the poster aka equal billing. This was an unprecedented move. He did so because he knew Audrey was going to be a star and thought he’d look stupid in the years ahead that he was higher than her then.
How illuminating! Anyway, thank you for listening, we hope you enjoyed our a cappella at the end... take it easy!
