Well Bless

Following on from Crucial Roots' "Take 5" a few months ago, we have prepared a mix showcasing 5 of our favourite Labels/Producers: Black Legacy (from producer Keety Roots), Blackheart Warriors, Black Redemption (run by Ras Kush), Blakamix, and Disciples Studios.
Blackheart Warriors: a California based Soundsystem and record label which has worked with artists like: Fred Locks, Judah Eskender Tafari, Earl Zero, Tena Stelin, Wellette Seyon, Sista Miko, Rob Symeonn, SIs Naffi I.
Black Legacy: Run by producer and singer Keety Roots, Black Legacy has been releasing records since the early 90s and a is a cornerstone of the UK's roots and dub scene.
Black Redemption: Run by producer Ras Kush out of New York and started in 2000, the label has released a steady stream of records form both US and UK producers, working regularly with Judah Eskender Tafary, Russ Disciples, Fred Locks and has partnered with Berlin's Lion Den Sound System.
Blakamix: Started by Mixman and now operated by his son Mali Blakamix, the label started in the late 80s and became central to the new UK Dub sound, working closely with Ironworks Studios, Dread & Fred and Unitone Studio.
Disciples: the moniker of legendary producer Russ Brown. Although Russ has run a string of labels over the years (Boom Shaka Lacka, Backyard Studios, Calabash) we have decided for this mix to group all of these under 'The Disciples'. Russ is one of the UK's most prolific dub producer, with a signature heavy bassline and melodic productions.
