Speaking in Tongues

This week's episode looks at how popular music in the 20th and 21st century have dealt with and examined the oldest of human activities - war.
From popular music as being part of the effort to maintain national morale in WWII, the songs protesting the state of affairs in America created by the Cold War and the war in Vietnam and realisation from the 90s that that pop music has limited from of protest.
Does pop music teach us anything new about war?
Is entertainment medium a poorly set up to deal with the horrors of human conflict?
Why do metal heads have such a boner for suffering?
We'll be back next week with a cheerier theme.
Lots of love
