Opening this week's episode is a raging, eleven minute-plus riff-fest from U.K. black / death metal crossover act Dragged Into Sunlight, who are touring the country in late May. Don't miss it; I regrettably have to, so head along to their Glasgow date on the 27th of May (or any of the others, if you're around) and see what they're all about in a live context. COLLECT EVIDENCE.
Songs for Singles this weeks sees METZ return again, post-debut. Here's how they rock the single-format; you be the judge.
Elsewhere: there's some brand new Altar of Plagues from their upcoming third full-length. I've heard it - this thing is a huge departure from their other work, but that's no bad thing. Keep an eye out for "Teethed Glory and Injury" in late April. Nails are also back, and they're still as heavy and aggressive as ever. Deathfix - a collaboration between Fugazi's Brendan Canty and Blowoff's Rich Morel - are uneven on their debut LP, but there's a cracking few songs on there. Here's one of them.
The recommended record is Crime in Stereo's latest before their hiatus. They're now back together, but until they come out with some more material, let this album provide you with an insight into how good they can be. A glorious mix of indie, punk and art rock.17:00 - 18:00
