The Red Room
This week, we discussed our deep dislike of dancing, ice skating, and SMS language, as well as our profound love of coffee, hot chocolate, and Klaus Kinski. We also discussed dialetcs, including our fascination with the Scottish/Canadian accent, the similarities between the Scottish and the French accents, and the peculiar things we say during our sleep.
We debated on whether we'd rather swim in the Clyde or the Kelvin, on the origins of collective cultural musical motifs, and on whether or not meditation and mantras do any good. We also discussed our fascination with serial killers, the appearance of George Square in the trailer for Marc Forster's World War Z, and our fond memories of eating square sausage rolls during primary school lunchtimes.
We reviewed films by David Fincher (Se7en), Masafumi Yamada (Creepy Hide and Seek), Kôji Shiraishi (The Curse), Takashi Shimizu (Marebito), and Sergio Corbucci (The Great Silence), as well as Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells at the Cottier's Theatre, Stereo's Fifth Birthday Party, and Act 2 of Tristan and Isolde by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra at the City Halls.17:00 - 19:00
