I'm back. With nothing to say but a lot to play. 2 hours of solid music. This, that, and everything in between; More genres than you can shake a tail to.
The set starts with local favourite Ultimate Thrush's 'Ladyfinger' before taking flight to faraway places with a couple of top notch Sublime Frequencies releases, then Lizzy Mercier Descouix's Hard-Boiled Babe kicks off a femme heavy set of variations on Pop, ending with Everlasting Love, including favourites new and old, from near and far. Changing up from that with 'Who Planted Thorns in Miss Alice's Garden' by Tom Northcott, a Canadian Folk/Rock/Psych artist from the 60s and 70s, the set then gets a bit wild. Not nearly as eclectic as my taste or record collection, but definitely displaying a side of my at home listening with... The Monks into The Wipers into The Poles into Bob Log into The Go! Team into DJ Shadow into Jurassic 5 into Kelis into Janelle Monae into The Staple Singers into Donald Byrd into The Serendipity Singers into Kaada and lastly Rosie & The Originals. The Lady Pop mix in the first half is the most cohesive bit, the tracks thereafter are inspired by my contributions to conversations with other people, the mix is one I was having with myself at the time. Chopping and changing, without me in the studio to add charm.
Tune in from 10-12.
Thank you, Deena x
