A bottle rocket is a cheap flying firecracker on a stick commonly used in the USA and other places where cheap firecrackers are enjoyed. Bottle Rocket is also an indie dancing club night, taking place in the basement of Nice N Sleazy. And now Bottle Rocket is a happy-go-lucky radio show delighted to play you songs to make you smile, songs to make your dancing shoes itch and songs to make you walk with a spring in your step. There will also be songs which do none of the above but are ace in other ways, and songs from bands soon to be plying their wares live in the city. Here are just a few of the key ingredients: dynamite, pole vaulting, laughing gas, choppers - can you see how incredible this is going to be?
so bottle rocket's absence from the airwaves continues a little while longer... i had a corker of a show lined up for today (complete with copious amounts of pavement), but have to wait in for tickets for the pavement-curated all tomorrow's parties festival to arrive (does that qualify as irony?). speaking of which, there'll be no show next week either since i'll be down in minehead still. but that still leaves four shows left of the current term's run, and by jove i promise they'll be the finest four shows you ever did clap ears on.
see you in a fortnight!
