Our first two years with the station were a mix of horrific improvisation, bad jokes, libellous statements and great super keen fun guests. We hope to continue this into the next millenium. Oh, wait, that's already taken place? Well cosmos be damned. The actual date, (or star date), should not limit the plithiness of the the final sentence of a paragraph.
This particular radio unit include a fulcrum, Daryn Shepherd, a constant, Louise Hoblyn, and a revolving Lyndsay Mccartney.
(We sometimes get joined by such guests as:
Douglas T Stewart of BMX Bandits, The Twilight Sad, Frightened Rabbit, 1990s, Ross Clark,
John B Mckenna, Alan Bissett, Y'all Is Fantasy Island, Stroszek, The Ballad Of Mable Wong,
We Were Promised Jetpacks, doneimagine,
Tayside Mental Health, Wounded Knee.
But none of them are actually tradesmen so our doors are still a bit wonky)
As well as allowing artists to perform live in the studio and also settle down we let them pour out their souls into our BIG MELTING POT.
We argue, we fight, we joke, we love and most crucial off all, we are non smokers. Please, do not resist us!
We are the (polite) Borg cube that is The Self Raising Flour Hour of Power team.
"Listeners and guests will craft and shape the show, otherwise I will craft and shape them!"
- Humphrey Richard Adeane Lyttelton
(He was a nice arty tony-hart-with-a-trumpet sort of man who is unable to escape his violent past of having an ancestor associated with the gunpowder plot)
news
hey we're still here and here's a haiku special.
Subcity is moving but thanks to a handy Logitech microphone hitherto only used for lowly playstation2 party game playing purposes, The Self Raising Flour Hour Of Power has returned with a special devoted to the artistry behind the most concise poetic form on the planet, gather up your collection of syllabels, paste 'em together in a 5-7-5 formation and have a rather profound listen. Songs have been selected purely for their ability to be molested into the shape of a haiku! Do not miss this act of extreme lyrical butchery, get it on your wireless now!

french wives on self raising flour hour!
The Self Raising Flour Hour Of Power // 28.10.09
They release a single this week. They come on our show. Then they go to avalanche. That's how you make it in the music buisness. Or rather not, more so a well established band have decided to drop in on us in a kind gesture that simply stalls their trip to avalanche. Erm. That's still wrong. Lets stick with THE FRENCH WIVES are coming on our radio programme THE SELF RAISING FLOUR HOUR OF POWER and they shall be playing and djing for your audio-enjoyment. Much better. Wednesday 11-1pm. Don't miss it.

fake histories monthly (weekly)
The Self Raising Flour Hour Of Power // 16.09.09 // Fake Histories Monthly (Weekly)
The Self Raising Flour Hour of Power returns to the airwaves to present a very special showcase. In his travels across America and Siberia this summer, Daryn has come upon a very special, very GRIPPING set of memoirs that he is delighted to be able to share with all the fresh, nubile younglings that shall be galavanting across out fair campus this year. Tune in Wednesday from 10-12pm to hear a story so daunting, so unfair that it can only be fiction. But it isn't. Kind of. Also features appropriate tunes. Hi-ho!

apologies
Due to the ongoing health problems of one of our presenters and some unfortunate re-location back to oxford there will be no self raising flour hour of power this week. But we shall return next week (20/5/09) fighting fit, come hell or highwater. With a report on the ATP festival and some sunshine. We brought that. Our sadness brought the good weather. Thank us.
