This week, Tarantism promote the launch of the first of a series of Podcasts from Glasgow based DJs, KOLLEKTIV, named the KOLLEKTIKAST.
Kollektiv currently play Wednesday nights fortnightly at The Ivy, on Argyll Street, at which a sub-section of the Kollektikast, named The Ivy Sessions will be recorded and released, also fortnightly.
The first of these Podcasts was recorded by Kollektiv's own Doug Shearer, a.k.a. Behaviour, who has decided to take a different approach to the conventional mash-up of lounge, chill-out, lo-fi and house that Kollektiv normally bring to their bar-sets.
Instead, Behaviour played a 50minute long mix of ambient and experimental sounds, using the new Traktor 2's sampling facilities to its fullest, with recordings of birdsong and the click-clock-click of grandfather clocks smoothly complementing the soft tones and relaxed drone of the tracks he selected to play.
