National Talk Like A Pirate Day

tenuous linx

This week J-Ham couldn't make it, so Ross was joined in the studio by special guest Emma Goldie. You may remember her from the two-and-a-half hour High School Special.

Featured on "Off The Record" was the new Japandroids single which you can download here, as well as a new Radio Dept. song which is also available as a free download.

We tried to be topical this week. Today was International Talk Like A Pirate Day, but we couldn't be bothered talking like pirates so that didn't really work out. Oh well, at least we got to spin a cool Lambchop song. We also tried to apply an America Addio-influenced harvest theme to this show, but it was a tenuous link to the rest of the playlist to say the least. Still, it's probably safe to say that this is the only radio show on Subcity that has played a song by a vocally auto-tuned synth-rock artist whose album is about agriculture 'n stuff, so we're adding that to our list of achievements. That list now has one thing on it.

Emma also takes charge for "I Care Because You Don't" and impresses Ross with some late 80s/early 90s fuzz-pop courtesy of Black Tambourine. Feels good man.
