broken dreams club

This week's playlist has a lot of catchy, straightforward pop-rock brought to you by likes of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Girls and The Smashing Pumpkins. J Mascis makes a whole lot less noise with a track from his new solo LP, and Explosions in the Sky get to the point a whole lot quicker with their new song "Trembling Hands". TV on the Radio bring this week's Recommended Record ahead of the release of their upcoming album "Nine Types of Light". A final treat comes in the form of a Public Enemy cover by the Dillinger Escape Plan. Featuring fuckin' Chuck D. That's what I'm talkin' about.

Tune in next week for something a little more sinister.

P.S. Here's a download link to the free Smashing Pumpkins album mentioned in today's show: "MACHINA II: The Friends and Enemies of Modern Music". The link works at the time of writing.
