This week, Source Tags & Mixtapes gets a little nostalgic. When deciding what to play for Songs for Singles this week, I came across the first 7" I ever bought. That got me thinking about the stuff I was listening to in my pre-teens and early teens. There's a lot of stuff I couldn't bear to listen to at this stage - phasey crap one gets into because it's readily available and tailored to a specific demographic. But there's music that I still hold dear now; albums and artists that give me vivid memories of where I was at that point in my life. I can even see where my current tastes and obsessions stem from. Some of the songs on this playlist may be considered "guilty pleasures", but I hope to make a case for them and explain clearly why they belong here in this episode.
