Christmas Special

christmas special

Fraser has always played a few Christmas songs round about this time of year usually borrowed from his producer but today's show is dedicated to this winter festival.

Of course Soul has roots in Gospel so it's not unexpected to hear The Staple Singers and Who took the Merry out of Christmas.

Clarence Carter takes an old blues theme subtracts man and gives us Back Door Santa.

Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, The Temptations, The Miracles and The jackson Five all recorded Christmas albums (of varying quality) for Motown.

Stax did a couple of festive compilations as well.
