The Pop Cop // 1830-2005 12.02.12

mike nisbet in session

This month's session guest is Mike Nisbet, who unfortunately had to cancel his scheduled appearance in January's show due to toothache.

His stunning debut record Vagrant was in The Pop Cop's top 10 albums of 2011 and here's what I wrote about the man from Oban when I put him in my top 10 tips of 2012:

"You can't help but admire Mike Nisbet, quietly going about his business with little fanfare before releasing a remarkable debut album that makes you wonder why more musicians don't spend as much time honing their craft as they do pimping themselves on Facebook. Vagrant is a proper singer-songwriter's record, untouched by fads or trends. It deserves to make this man the biggest word-of-mouth success story from Scotland since Admiral Fallow."

Check out Mike Nisbet's music via Bandcamp, Facebook, Twitter and his website.
