episode titles in url
for example on tumblr you get a url for a post which looks like this - shaunfaesolar.tumblr.com/post/7885114931/cant-we-just-all-get-along

we could have this:

subcity.org/shows/showname/episodeid/episode-title
and have the old style urls redirect to the new style, same as tumblr does.

This would help with google shit.

rather than subcity.org/shows/showname/...
why not have subcity.org/showname/...
You would only need to exclude the existing directories as lognames etc

It would make it nicer to read out on air and would look nicer all round.

The problem with sticking the episode title in the URL is that we would need to be careful about presenters changing the title after the link had been put about to avoid breaking links.

Do we ignore what is in the episode-title and use only the showname and episodeid? That leads us to the possiblility of people linking to episodes thus: subcity.org/shows/<showname>/<episiodeid>/lolthisistotalshite
instead of the actual <episode-title>.

the way tumblr deals with it is pretty good.

if someone visited subcity.org/shows/<showname>/<episiodeid>/lolthisistotalshite
i'd have it go to subcity.org/shows/<showname>/<episiodeid>/current-episode-title

one that looks good, is funny and provides some intelligent suggestions / content if possible.

potential in a wee facebook app or whatever they call it that auto posted to your timeline when you'd listened to something on the site for longer than x.

ala mixcloud / the guardian.
