Content Syndication

Postby alanmac » Thu Sep 30th, 2010, 2:33 pm

Content syndication is a highly effective way to drive traffic to the site, both through direct links and our 'search engine presence'. It also does not require much developer time and gives returns much quicker than the slow-burn improvements we have currently planned.

Essentially two websites come to an agreement to cross-post each others content, usually in the form of a teaser and a direct link to the full article.

Often syndicated content gets a bad name, so allow me to qualify the idea with the following statements:

    a) The content must be of a high quality.
    b) The content must be relevant to our users.
    c) The content must actually be content, not an advert.
