I am still a little curious about which emetophile texted in about my vomiting.
And I'd just like to thank all those who didn't completely write me off (and my coach, my mum, my dad, my gardener, God...).

And maybe some form of a swingometer.

You could easily prepare this by listening again and putting the score updates into excel. I simply do not have the time, as I need to go get After Eights. :P

A scene which often occurs between Jannik and myself during an Eat Off.

That is brilliant. I have now added an equally appropriate picture to the show profile. Hover over it for appropriate caption.

have to admit, I'm a little dissapointed, was looking forward to seeing a photo of cheese and after eights, that would have been mighty appetising

As much as i'm presuming John is supposed to be the eaty one - I can't help feeling that he looks more like Count... and Jannik is a spitting image of the Cookie Monster.

I cannot wait for the disgusting lactose-carnage that will ensue in just over 2 hours time. This will be brutal. :D

I've so far been silent on this contest, but before my bout, I think I should say simply that this is all pointless and I may as well be awarded the crown right now.

John, If after every one of your 20 bouts in the past you felt half as bad as I do today, you're a very brave man

Now available on listen again. As before I'll give folk a day or two to catch up before I post the results.

Just to let you all know, tomorrow is officially St Pirren's day, the patron saint of Cornwall. So tonight I will be devoruing pasties in order to celebrate this monumentous occassion. It's only going to get me psyched up for the Cornish revolution next Wednesday.

That should be adequate time for those wanting to listen again. If you don't want to know the result read no further...

'Thin Joe' Evans beat David 'Gastronomic Grey-Area' Jackson by 446 NOMs to qualify for the Last Supper

Joe ate 570 NOMs of cheese and 848 NOMs of after eights to give him a grand total of 1418 NOMs (with 40% cheese).
David ate 660 NOMs of cheese and 312 NOMs of after eights to give him a total of 972 NOMs (with 32% after eights).

At the mid point in the match there was only 7.5 NOMs in it (about 2/3rds of an after eight) but following a tactical error by David, Joe pulled away in the final half to win comfortably. Perhaps as Joe said "it was mint to be".

Check it out on listen again.

The brain forgets that kind of discomfort very quickly, allowing the average compeatitor to enter their next contest in blissful ignorance.

I have just eaten one of the pasties that will be consumed on Wednesday. It was quite nice. However not with condensed milk. This match is going to be horrific. :P
