Well that a well balanced, objective article, from a well balanced objective news source.

Oh now, wait...

NewsNetScotland's About Us Page wrote:The site favours major constitutional reform, either full independence for Scotland where we reclaim the remaining powers currently reserved to Westminster or Full Fiscal Autonomy that would at least provide the Scottish Government with the tools to address Scotland’s economic and social issues. This will be reflected in the editorials and content.

..and Hallett is anything to do with that website George?? The source is Halletts own academic findings.

I dont need to. You can hear him for yourself on my initial link, there's an audio interview with him you can listen to.

Here

Scotland is the oil and gas capital of Western Europe. Look up HM Gov documents archive from 1975. De-classified under the 30 year rule.

I would like your views.

I already did. You can hear him for yourself on my initial link, there's an audio interview with him. Hallett was on Newsweek Scotland, on BBC Radio Scotland two weeks ago.

Why did you quote yourself to bold one word? You realise you have an edit button?

Also a general question for mods, Is posting a link with little to no description actually banter?

I didnt notice i'd quoted myself but nice to see that you're only here for the banter, Monolith.

I would have thought you might have an opinion about the article, rather than one on the permitted posts on the GU student radio station forum.

I want independence for Hillhead. We have been subsidising Govan for far too long.

Reductio ad absurdum.

I'm all about the banter Frank, sorry rob.

I just think posting a link with no description suggests a lack of banter & more politicised Internet leafletting. It's not that I don't agree with the views expressed, actually a lot of this I agree with the necessary discussions are good ones, merely suggesting that your posting style is shite. ;-)

Also as you know I'm still enraged that your ' what are you listening to now' thread has eclipsed my 'fictional commodore 64 titles' thread

On a production note - that interview is mastered pretty poorly. They should learn hard limiting and other audio editing skills.

I like the obvious dodge of a certain Fox phrase.

Yes, but it won't be in 15 years time. Look at the declining revenues and resources from Scottish oil and gas resources over the last decade. It was a valid argument when Salmond and co. used it 10 years ago, but even Salmond has stopped saying it now because he knows it isn't remotely sustainable. North Sea output fell by 38% between 2000 and 2006 and is continuing to go down. The profit on each barrel is dropping as well despite an increase in the sale price, because remaining reserves are more difficult to extract and consequently costs have increased. Whilst we'll continue to reap some rewards from the North Sea over the next decade or two there's no hope of it being big enough to support a national economy, or a sustainable economy going into the following decades.

George no news agency or news network is free from some form of bias. Anytime you want to sort out that massive superiority complex is fine with the rest of the world.
