A bit more of this story. I was approached by one guy who wanted me to announce it was his sister's birthday. I don't take a mic to pub gigs.

then the cropped hair Geordie approached. I did feel like pointing out that in the time they had been in the pub there might have been one chart record played on Motown possible and that if he could find any DJ in Queen Street with a vinyl copy of Abba I would play it but I thought no and inanely grinned whilst I apologized for my lack of foresight. His lass came over as well and after asking looked through my record box with my promise that if she found any of the 40 year old records interesting I'd play her choice.

As they were drinking quite a bit I doubted that Nicky would have appreciated me directing them to Reflex.

On the other hand others came up and thanked me for the selection I'd been playing.

I recorded my set in The Twisted Wheel last Friday straight off the decks. So I have put an hour's worth of crackly vinyl on Postbocks for free download. It's decent quality MP3 file which you can load onto your MP3 player or just play off your computer.
